    For this assignment I started off simple because I've never sculpted in Zbrush before and wanted to make sure I could achieve a nice product. I went with a fruit crate and want my final product to be a Florida Orange fruit crate that is semi real.

Rendering a Still Shot in Unreal 5

 Rendering a Still Shot in Unreal 5: 

  1. Under Your Content browser settings, make sure that both Show Engine Content and Show Plugin Content are checked. 
  2. Create a Camera and pose it however you like. 
  3. Open your Movie Render Queue. Windows > Cinematics > Movie Render Queue (You may need to enable this plugin under settings > Plugins)
  4. Click Render and Select you camera you want to render from. Don't forgot to set your file path for your render location.

Helpful Tips for Modeling in Maya

 Tips: 

  •  Create an object and hit 3 on the keyboard to enable smooth mesh preview. Then under Modify, select 'Convert smooth mesh preview to polygons'.

I grouped my layers by section, and shaded using the pen tool to select areas and then added a solid color layer to each area. I used a soft airbrush for lighting,

Nanite issues on Tech Art Homework

 In the current version of Unreal 5, Nanite does not support meshes that contain textures that are two sided or materials that contain masks. 


When these meshes are converted to Nanite, they will appear dark or completely lose their material/texture. 


I unchecked two-sided on some of the materials that were affected, and this solved the issue. Others I simply could not fix, and had to leave unoptimized.
